O21 Peek Rods
When used in conjunction with a proven pedicle-based, posterior screw system like the Biomet Omega21, the PEEK-OPTIMA® rods system is designed to provide immobilization and dynamic stabilization of the spinal segments, and as an adjunct to fusion in the treatment of acute and chronic instabilities of the lumbar and sacral spine.
The Biomet Omega21 Spinal Fixation System with PEEK-OPTIMA® Rods incorporates the use of both the Biomet Omega21 Classic Spinal Fixation System along with pre-contoured 6.0mm PEEK-OPTIMA® rods, and the Biomet Omega21 LP Spinal Fixation System along with pre-contoured 6.0mm PEEK-OPTIMA® rods.
Features:
• Polyetheretherketone material is highly biocompatible
• Very high strength while maintaining modulus of elasticity much closer to cortical bone
• Pre-cut in 5mm lengths
• Packed sterile and pre-contoured
• Can be used in combination with anterior column support but also as stand alone posterior dynamic stabilization
• Topping off solution to prevent adjacent level problems.
