Netherlands 'Change'
The Ibex system is designed to meet the clinical challenges of Trans Foraminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion surgery and restore the biomechanical integrity of the anterior and middle spinal column while the fusion process is occuring, for a prolonged period of time. the Ibex spacers must be used in conjunction with a posterior stabilisation sytem.
The Ibex sytem is available in the materials: PEEK-Optima® or Titanium. PEEK-Optima® gives the implant a closer modulus of elasticity to bone than metal implants.
An open top & bottom design with large windows for graft in growth and vascularisation. The single chamber design provides a large graft volumes and accommodates the fusion process thus facilitating the pre-packing of bone graft material.
Full range of sizes to accommodate anatomical fit. 6 or 0 degrees lordosis to restore the normal anatomical alignment. Sizes are availtable from 7mm - 17mm heights in 2mm increments. Overall inplant length 28mm.
Serrated pyramid shaped teethe located on the top & bottom of the device (*1mm high on each side) to resist sheer & rotational forces and to increase
resistance tot retropulsion. The teeth also provide stability by engaging bony endplates.
Tantalum marker beads allow for optimal orientation of the spacer. The material is radiolucent offering an accurate visualisation and assessment of the fusion.
Endplate sparing. Less resistant to susidence because endplate is prserved. The implant shape conforms to the anterior shape of the adjacent vertebral bodies for greater stability within the anterior column, It also minimises need to cut or ream into endplate, reducing a surgical step.
Easy user frindly instrumentation with two inserter options (50 and 70), bases on the patients midline anatomy.
