Multi Axial Corrections (MAC)

Now, with a Unilateral System, Angulate and Translate in Two Planes, and Effect Gradual and Acute Rotation

The Mac Fixation System is a multi-component system designed around three key elements:

  • The MAC Module
  • The Gradual Rotating Ring
  • A Ring Distractor Mechanism

Available in two sizes to better accommodate patients of varying sizes:

  • XS - for very small patients and larger patients in a non-weight bearing capacity
     
  • Adult - for many patients with malunions and younger patients with deformities who are larger in size
     
  • System is highly modular and can be integrated with existing systems, such as DynaFix® VisionTM Pin-to-Bar Systems, DFS® Rail System, DFS® Hybrid System, etc.
     
  • System is also capable of unilateral, hybrid and ring-to-ring configurations. No other manufacturer makes a system that can achieve all three.
     
  • Ring Distraction mechanism allows user to gradually distract between two rings. Only Biomet offers ring distraction from a single point-patient only has to make one correction, not three or four, as with circular fixation systems.
     
  • Available in five sizes of rotating rings-four adult and one XS. When using the Biomet Rotating Rings with the MAC System, it is possible to attain up to 150° of gradual rotation, with a 1/4 turn to 1º rate of correction.
