HipLOC (Dynamic Compression Screw)

The HipLOC system, Biomet’s time-proven Dynamic Hip Screw device, is a high-nitrogen stainless steel fixation solution for the management of proximal femoral fractures.

By achieving a controlled sliding of the femoral head and a stable inter fragmentary bone compression, HipLOC allows a reconstruction of the proximal aspect of the femur. HipLOC has seen its instrumentation evolve to make the system easy and quick to use.

Features:

  • The Hiploc plate is available in 2 to 14 screw holes and two barrels (25mm and 38mm) options to address most fracture configurations.

  • The plate dynamic compression holes allow axial inter-fragmentary compression

  • The Hiploc system offers a large range of plate/lag screw angles, from 130° up to 150°, to match the femoral anatomy.

  • The 4.5mm stainless steel self-tapping fixation screws can be angled to achieve stable bone fixation

  • 2 different type of lag screws can be selected, the Standard (Ø12mm), or Super (Ø14mm) lag screw with increased thread depth to address osteoporotic patients.

  • The system offers the clinician a choice of techniques: conventional and the “single step” plate/lag screw insertion, reducing operating time.

  • The rapid button reamers allow to quickly adjust the reaming depth, or alternatively, the clinician can choose the more traditional locking reamer.

  • The Instrumentation is divided into a Standard Hiploc (35-000181) and Supplementary Hiploc (35-000183) trays, to reduce the inventory and ease the instruments selection by the scrub nurse.
